Having qualified from University of Newcastle in 2008, Karan moved back to Yorkshire and joined Eccleshill Dental in December 2009. In 2012, Karan completed the examinations to become a member of the Joint Dental Faculties (MJDF) at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England. Recently, Karan has completed a postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education at the University of Leeds.
Karan has also been selected as Dental Foundation Trainer, where he helps to train and mentor new qualified dentists on behalf of the Yorkshire and Humber Postgraduate Deanery. This prestigious role is something Karan greatly enjoys.
Karan strives to delivery dentistry to the highest standards and ensure that the patient experience is excellent from start to finish. Karan is committed to improvements and regularly attends post graduate courses and lectures to ensure he keeps up to date with advances in the profession.
The focus for Karan is to tailor his care to the patient’s wants and needs. He feels that a holistic approach where listening to a patient’s concerns and expectations and then discussion is key to ensuring we get the right results. Karan relishes building great relationships with his patients and feels this is the most rewarding part of his role. Karan also enjoys helping anxious patients through their treatment.
In his spare time, Karan is learning to play golf and is working on his swing!
In her spare time, Tracey enjoys listening to Northern Soul music and loves to taste other peoples’ food!
Prior to working at Eccleshill Dental I worked at the Leeds Dental Institute where I competed an apprenticeship in dental nursing. I graduated from Leeds Dental University in 2015 with a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. I also achieved an award for apprentice dental nurse of the year from the Dental Institute.
I love working alongside the dentists, and provide the best care possible for our patients.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family which mainly involves days out and supporting my 4 year old son Harrison during the activities he participates in.
To relax I enjoy reading books and swimming, I do like to decorate but wouldn’t put it at the top of my skills list!
I have always had an interest in dentistry and helping people regain a smile they are proud of, leading me to career in Dental Hygiene and therapy.
Prior to becoming a dental therapist I was a dental nurse for a year which confirmed my interest in the Dentistry. I then went on to Graduate from Leeds University in 2014 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy. In this time I was also very proud to gain the ’Tutors Choice award’ for my year.
As a dental therapist I am able to provide all forms of cleaning from maintenance or stain removal appointments, which help to keep patients mouths feeling fresh and healthy to deeper gum treatments helping to resolve gum disease. I am also able to provide small tooth restorations in all types of restorative materials for adults and children.
I have a cheerful approachable manner. I spend a lot of time ensuring my patients are at ease and comfortable. I strive to ensure to patients receive gold standard treatment with advice that is relatable to themselves to help achieve the best possible results. I gain great satisfaction from helping patient achieve the healthy smile that they can be happy and proud of!
In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends, going on long walks with my Springer spaniel and Lhasa Apso. I love eating so enjoying trying new recipes and making different foods!
Andrew joined Eccleshill Dental shortly after it opened in 1986 and has been here ever since! Together with the Eccleshill Dental team, he focused on providing excellent quality care whilst building great relationships with his patients. This friendly, caring and honest ethos is why the practice has grown so much and why so many patients are still with us almost thirty years later! Today, these values remain at our core and try to emulate daily.
Andrew is a hugely experienced clinician with a huge array of cases under his belt. Despite this, he still remains committed to keeping up to date with advances in Dentistry. He is currently undertaking a post graduate course in advanced restorative and aesthetic dentistry to further enhance his skills.
Andrew is passionate in his commitment to helping patient’s get what they want. He strives to ensure the best result for his patients
Andrew plays Tennis at a high level, captaining the Over 40’s Yorkshire Team and recently reaching the final of the over 50’s British Open. He also loves spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Karen likes to spend her spare time with her two children, enjoying trips to the cinema, swimming regularly and enjoying days out. Karen also likes to read and bake if she manages to find time out from entertaining her children!.
Laura is learning to cook but struggles to butter bread….?!
Outside of work, I have two beautiful children, Rosie and Alice, who are a big part of my life.
I am currently studying for my level 5 diploma in management, and hope to have achieved this by 2020.
